Business Suspended Until Further Notice

Is Minimalism The Right Fit for You?

Did you ever notice our tag line?

.....making life simple

We started using this phrase when we established our business in 2003 because we felt it embodied what we wanted Organizing 4 U to bring to our customers.  When we are first contacted by someone, 100% (at least 98%) state they are overwhelmed and need some help in their home or business.  We provide the hands-on assistance and solutions to simplify the way they live and work.  The German abstract artist, Hans Hoffman, stated

YES, this is what we do!!

Some of our customers have indicated that they are married to a minimalist, have children who are embracing minimalism or have a desire to morve in that direction.  But what does this really mean?  There has been an emerging trend to live very, very simply by embracing minimalism.  The definition of minimalism that we like is by The Minimalists, Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nocodemus:

"Minimalism is a tool used to rid yourself of life's excess
in favor of focusing on what's important
so you can find happiness, fulfillment and freedom."

This will mean many things to many people, and does not mean you HAVE TO get rid of all but 100 of your possessions, or part with anything that does not bring you joy, or to not purchase anything new for a year. Rather, we see the minimalist movement as one that can be a guide to defining how you want to live.

Kelly Exeter of A Life Less Frantic created a A Manifesto for A Simple Life.

She explains this manifesto in more detail with this guest blog post to Slow Your Home.  Her basic premise was to uncomplicate her life so she could focus only what was truly necessary and important to her.

Do you wish that you could find everthing you needed when you needed it without it being buried by other things that you may not even remember that you have?  Do you want to spend less time taking care of (storing, cleaning, organizing) your stuff so that you will have more time to experience those things that are more meaningful to you?  Do you want to find a way to uncomplicate your life?

In addition to the links already mentioned, here are some links to some more minimalists who are sharing their journeys, perhaps you could find the right fit to inspire you.

We hope to have shed some light and answered some of the questions you may have had about minimalism.  Let us know if you have been inspired.

Enjoy the Summer,

JoEllen & Muffy
